It is an uncomplicated form composed of a melting watch draped over the branch of a tree. In this sculptural form Dalí examines the human perception of time - when we are involved in enjoyable activities or in work that absorbs all our attention,'time flies', but when we are mired in boredom, time drags. The flaccid watch no longer'keeps' time - it does not quantify its passage. Accordingly, the speed of our time depends only on us. This sculpture was cast using the "Lost Wax Method" and it is mounted on a marble base and is signed Salvador Dali. Virgin Islands, however, an additional charge may be required.
